Teaching and learning

At MARCH, we believe that education, whether academic, vocational, or skills-based, is the key to ensuring that children, teenagers, and young people can make their own choices, fight for what matters to them and build brighter life chances.

We know that inspiring young people is not always easy, especially when learners face additional challenges. That’s why our role is to support tutors in:

  • Motivating even the most disengaged learners
  • Using more effective SEN and neurodivergent strategies
  • Exploring innovative teaching and learning approaches
  • Building confidence in managing challenging behaviours

We achieve this by working closely with tutors through:

  • One-to-one support
  • Co-writing lesson plans tailored to their learners
  • Team teaching
  • Offering constructive feedback in a supportive, non-judgemental way

Our aim is to empower staff so that they feel confident, supported, and inspired in their teaching.
Secure environments

At MARCH, we have a commitment to making sure children are safe and secure. Our experienced consultant can work within your regime to help identify safeguarding issues, train officers in understanding why children who have committed crimes behave the way they do and help staff to develop safe working practices. We also have a proven track record in reducing challenging behaviours within YOI. We are very aware of the stresses staff experience in this type of environment and any work we do with your staff will always take this into account.

Equality and diversity

MARCH offers expert consultancy on equality matters, including harassment. With over 30 years of experience, our consultant provides thorough evaluations and practical recommendations to address concerns effectively.

Some clients ask us to produce a clear, actionable report on how to make their environment more inclusive, while others engage us for full investigations involving interviews and in‑depth analysis of complex and sensitive issues.  In every case, MARCH approaches equality work with sensitivity and fairness, helping organisations reduce risk and prevent situations from escalating further.
